Earlier this month we welcomed Jim Galasso to the Holtkamp Heating & Air team as our new Director of Operations. We asked him 5 questions to showcase how Jim will help us deliver even greater comfort to your family.
1. What are your main goals at Holtkamp Heating & Air?
When I came on I understood I was coming to an established company with strong practices. My goal is to work off of this and continue to help move the company forward. I like the honest feedback of everyone involved to help improve processes to become more efficient and streamline procedures.
My position is that of a facilitator in that I am here to assist everyone so they can do their best work.
2. How have your past work experiences prepared you for this role?
I have over 20 years of leadership experience in very diverse environments. I’ve run multi-unit locations and big box stores, leading teams of up to 100 people. The thing that I am most proud of is consistently being ranked at the top of class in customer and associate satisfaction.
My biggest takeaway from all my experience is taking care of the internal and external customer. I truly believe in supporting our team and utilizing their strengths.
3. How will Holtkamp Heating & Air customers benefit from you joining the team?
My focus is all about the customer; they are the reason we are here. I come from a customer facing environment where your impact is immediate and where you will not get second chances with customers. I believe that anything you do should be done with integrity. Every contact you have with the customer should be a memorable experience.
4. What’s your favorite part of working here so far?
I think my favorite part so far is learning the HVAC business. So far, every day has been a tremendous learning experience. I am trying to absorb as much as I can as quickly as I can. The team has been very gracious answering my never ending barrage of questions.
5. Tell us some interesting facts about your background?
I was originally born in South Korea many moons ago, and was adopted at a couple of months old. I’ve lived in Florida, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Missouri but have called Georgia home since 2001.
I’ve been married 3 years to my wife Van. She is an amazing cook which is the main reason why you will see me on a new diet every couple months or so. In our spare time we try to stay pretty active. We enjoy traveling, hiking, participating in charitable events and spending time with family.
One last interesting detail is that I went to school with a lot of famous people. John Mayer, James Blake and Justin Long are some alumni that are much more famous than me!
