Instant Pot Shredded Chicken Tacos Recipe

Need a quick dinner that almost cooks itself and tastes delicious? This Shredded Chicken Tacos Recipe is just the ticket! Plus, you only need a few ingredients and most of them are already in your pantry.

Thanks to the Instant Pot, this tender, juicy chicken will be ready in minutes. It’s perfect for tacos, but also makes great nachos, burritos, enchiladas and more.


2-3 chicken breasts

3 tablespoons taco seasoning (1 packet)

1/2 cup salsa

1/4 cup chicken broth or stock

Dashes of Holtkamp Heatwave Hot Sauce (optional)

1 tsp salt/pepper


Sprinkle the salt and pepper evenly over both sides of the chicken.

Pour the chicken broth into the Instant Pot.

Place the seasoned chicken breasts into the Instant Pot. Sprinkle the taco seasoning evenly over the chicken breasts and top with the salsa and hot sauce, if using.

Place the lid on the Instant Pot, lock the lid and set the time for 15 minutes of cooking.

Let the pot naturally release for 5 minutes, release the rest of the pressure.

Remove the chicken breasts to a board and shred with two forks.

Return the shredded chicken to the pot, mix with the sauce and serve with your favorite taco toppings. Enjoy!
